Join Katie and Giancarlo Caldesi, TV’s ‘The Low-Carb GP’ Dr David Unwin and Nutritionist Jenny Phillips as they prepare a lunch that will change the way you think about your diet.
Whether you just need help getting rid of those Christmas pounds or are concerned that your overall sugar intake is too high then this lunch will be both fun and informative.
The menu has been created to showcase dishes that are both satisfying and flavourful with delicious alternatives to the traditional carbs; dishes that Katie has developed as part of her quest to improve the Caldesi family diet and help husband Giancarlo lose weight and reverse his diabetes Type 2.
Dr Unwin is a keen advocate of the low-carb diet and has dedicated many years in research into the subject, proving how beneficial it can be to people with diabetes. Winning NHS Innovator of the Year 2016 the Doctor is an evangelist for cutting out the carbs and has appeared on BBC’s The One Show, Channel 4’s Food Matters, is a regular advisor to Parliament and has written in the National Press to highlight the benefits of a low-carb diet to the nation’s health.
Jenny Phillips is a renowned nutritionist and together our pair of experts will discuss how adopting a low-carb diet can reverse type 2 diabetes, improve general health and lead to controllable long term weight loss.
Katie Caldesi first became aware of the benefits of reducing the carb intake in our diets when her husband Giancarlo was alarmingly diagnosed as being diabetic. For an Italian man to give up pasta, pizza and sugar in his espresso she had to think fast. She began researching the health benefits of a low-carb diet and was soon creating recipes that had benefits for the whole family. They have all found it easy to maintain weight-loss (over 3 stone in Giancarlo’s case) and have better energy levels than ever before.
